TELL US WHAT YOU THINK!
FROM THE PAST EDITION (2024):

📢 UPDATE July 13th!
We are pleased to announce that Sonia Diociaiuti, pedagogist and teacher at the "A.Gemelli" Faculty of Rome, will be joining the TRC 2024 Residential week and beyond!
We are thinking about the possible participation in conferences co-promoted by her in Rome next autumn on the theme: "Where does the man want to go?" which will touch reflections on the evolution of AI (Artificial Intelligence) and its impact on human awareness and happiness, in continuity with what will be addressed during the TRC Residential experience: Argonauts 2024.
Good morning everyone!
Here we have the official proposal for FERA theater residential week (Sunday 4 to Sunday 11 August 2024).
👉 It will become a week of social research for teenagers and adults, that will end with a collaborative performance open to invited guest.
The experience keeps a limited number of participants (15 max), we will work mainly in age groups with moments of large group discussion.
The spoken languages will be English and Italian.
The focus of the week will be to think about, for each age group, on what "tools" are needed in life to feel fulfilled.
The week will in fact have the title
"The Argonauts 2024"
We will go street interview, meet local communities, stay in nature and go to the river!
‼ For each participant or interested person there will be a group call via GoogleMeet on Tuesday 25th at 6.30pm in which the progress of the week will be explained and in which we will listen and answer your questions.
We are always available for individual calls in case you are unable

The word THEATER
From the Treccani dictionary: “teatro s. m. [from lat. theatrum, and this from Gr. ϑέατρον, der. of the theme of ϑεάομαι «to watch, to be a spectator»; the Greek word indicated, as well as the building for dramatic representations, also the one for assemblies and for delivering speeches]".

Does doing theater mean OBSERVING? What?
The world, life, people, oneself.
What role can theater play today?
Theater is one of the most powerful pedagogical tools at our disposal. The entire last century was dotted with director-pedagogists who dedicated their research to the authenticity of movement, sound and word, of gesture when imbued with meaning and the communication channel through which we read the human being, of any age, in relation to the environment that surrounds him, of which he is part.
Theater performs multiple actions: it entertains, inverts, converts, reveals, subverts (cit. Massimo Maraviglia), shows.
Let's not get confused with theater of setting, of the body and of the voice, let's not mix the potential of the theater with just entertainment or the pleasure of being in front of an audience to show one's own, albeit precious, work.
We are for theater that seeks exchange and that knows how to move, transform, that takes care of people, of ideas, that asks without having answers, that searches without judgement, that recognizes amazement when in contact with the essential, truest parts that characterize us.

Stripped of prejudices, of pre-packaged actions, of redundant words, of fashions in the intercalations, we simply remain, us as a fertile field just waiting to flower and blossom in all its creative power. In this space directors, actors and audiences can meet to take part in the same creative act.

Theater in Ancient Greece tells us about the close relationship between theatrical art, community and culture, art is the evolution of thought, it offers different perspectives on everyday reality, it puts possibilities and breathing space where they seem to no longer have space.
Theater is among the most complete arts in which body, thought, sound, vibration, soul, universe are involved in the same dance.

The experience: Theater Residential
From 4 to 11 August 2024 it is possible, for the fifth consecutive year, to participate in the residential theater week at FERA Center for Studies. The theatrical part is handled by Paola Giavina, the vocal aspects by Samuele Barozzino.
During the experience it is possible to stay on site, or participate daily.
5 hours of theater per day, two hours in the morning from 10:00 to 12:00 and three in the afternoon from 15:00 to 18:00.
The proposed exercises will be used to train participants through:
1. Awareness of body language: the authenticity of our perception.
2. rediscover our voice through sounds, vibrations, singing
3. creative and theatrical writing
4. create a group performance: feel part of a creative process

The
performance created during the week will be staged at Villa Moro, in which an audience of friends and relatives will be able to attend.
The week besides the theater

Theater is a community act, sharing spaces, places, moments of work and leisure gives participants the opportunity to feel an active part: in addition to the purely theatrical work, the evenings will be enriched with moments of viewing of shows offered in our territory, there it will be an evening open to a public in which the group of actors will propose a role-playing game, inherent to the theme addressed during the week.
The experience involves the participation of foreign native speakers, the reference language in addition to Italian will therefore be English.
